65-70 lbs to lose

Recommended Posts

I guess I'll be the first to post in the 50+ lbs forum. :confused1: I have about 65-70 lbs to lose (I've put on about 5 lbs since getting my VSG date! :sad0:) I know that number would only increase without the VSG, so I am happy to know my surgery date is only a week away!

Normal....... you are propbably having a lot of last time I can eat this for X number of weeks!!!! Very hard!

I put on three myself......... had to have some hot wings (which do purree nicely...... I have a son who loves them and was on pureed stuff after his g-tube for about -8 months!)......lots of pickles and of course the last time I would eat a whole steak!

You will be ok!

I would like to lose 70 - 75 pounds. How did I ever get this heavy?? I am so jealous of you with surgery dates. I need to sell my house for the $$. I refuse to take out another loan! I plan to try for the end of March.

I wish all I had to lose was 60-75 lbs... I'm looking at 100 ... WE will get there though with the sleeve as a tool ... I have faith we will succeed. One week and counting .... try to keep yourself busy and not stress out about the coming surgery.

Hi all. As for me I am currently down 64 pounds since 10/2008. I would like to lose a total of 80. My surgeon sees me at 150. Personally I would love to see 130. This is where I would have a healthy BMI and where I looked my best "back in the day". But I do realize that as much as I want to get a certain weight, in addition to working the "tool" God will get me to where he thinks I should be. I hope we are of the same thinking on that issue. LOL. :001_smile:

Hi Jenn-

Had my procedure in april. Goal to lose about 95 lbs. Only down 45 so far. Looks like you are already down 52. Is that since your surgery date?

Hello chell~

I have been mostly connecting on a general WLS forum and realize I cant compare my results with RNY or LBs. I also did not have as far to go-started at 217, would like to see 120, 140-50 probably more realistic for my age and activity level. How has your progress been? Where did you begin? I'm trying to find out if I am on track for a VSG who was not super morbidly obese. Feel like i'm not making good progress. Would love to hear how it is going for others in similar demographics.

Hi, ardita! Yes, I am down 52 lbs since surgery! I really can't believe how quickly it has come off. Being a lightweight, I expected my loss to be very slow. Even though I'm impatient & want to be at goal NOW, I am still thrilled with my success so far.

Jenn,

That's awesome! I'm also down 50 pounds. I went with a friend two days ago to Dr. Aceves for her surgery. I got a leak test - all looks great.

How is it with being able to eat? I can eat most things. I'm still working on getting enough Protein & liquids.

Hey! I'm glad to hear from you! It sounds like you are doing wonderfully! Congrats. I bet Dr. Aceves was thrilled with your success.

Eating is going great. I haven't tried eggs since about 6 weeks out. I'm still too scared to try them again. The only thing I've found that bothers me is foods with a high sugar content. I shouldn't be eating those foods anyway, so I guess that's good. :confused1: I have to work each day to get in the Protein & I still have one Protein shake a day. I pretty much eat what I want...I just try to make the best choice.

I love my sleeve! :001_tt1:

Hello.

I was just sleeved last week. I too want to lose between 50-65 pounds. The nutritionist thinks 65; I think 50.

In the early days still of recovery so no weight loss as of yet, but I am terribly HOPEFUL. :)

Thanks!

Isn't hope a wonderful thing?

I hope to be sleeved in early January. My BMI is 33, so I figure I need to lose about 60 - 65 lbs. Looking forward to joining you losers!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
