I feel like the upper part of my abdomen right under my breasts is still sore and swollen. My back is sore from sitting up straight all day at work. On day 5 I felt a bit better than this. Is regressing or having bad days normal or should I be improving every day ?

I was banded 8 days ago too and went back to work on my 5th day. It's going to take awhile to heal. My back hurts, but I know it's because I don't sit up straight like I should. I take some Aleve in the am and it seems to help. When I worked all day Tuesday and got up Wednesday morning to go to work, I just wanted to stay in bed and sleep. I was exhausted and sore, but I got up, My main problem is when I bend over or go to sit down I have to press against my port area to keep it from hurting so bad. I checked with the nurse(emailed her Sunday evening and she replied back within 20 mins!)and she said it sounded like my port was catching and it would get better. Hope you get to feeling better. :)

Your port is in that area and it will hurt longer then the rest.

I was banded on Sept 18th and I look in the mirror and I feel like I look very swollen and am sore as well. I was afraid something was wrong. Glad to know I'm not alone. Good side is I'm down 13 pounds. I went bad to work after 5 days and it hard to make it through the day. I ended up calling in the next day. Wed and Thurs were pretty good days so I guess I went back too soon. I am however still very sore under my breast area and in my back

I was banded on the 19th as well. I went to Wal-Mart today for our weekly shopping and when I got home, got all unloaded and put up, I was exhausted. Laid down for a little bit and got up and felt like I was ran over. I'd call that a good work-out :)

I am 3 weeks and that back pain has passed. Everything is good but my port site still gets a little sore if I overdo it.

This forum is so helpful because I have no idea if what I am experiencing is normal and then I post a question and Bam I get an answer. Thanks everyone for taking my worries away !

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
