June 2006 Band Crew

Recommended Posts

Hi Junbies, hard to believe we are coming up on a year. I am doing well. Better this week. Trying to focus more on the exercise. I am down 52 lbs so far. I am considered a slow/average loser at 1 lb per week. At least it is a little more than 1 lb though. I started in a size 24 and now I'm in a 20 so I'm happy. I can't wait until I can get my butt back into a size 18. Its probably been 20 years. Thanks. Julie

"Where did the day go?"

Is this a common question in your life? Many of us jam-pack so much stuff into our daily routines, seemingly there’s no time to relax for just one minute, let alone exercise. Lack of time is one of the most common excuses for not having a decent fitness regimen. But do you realize that in the time it might take you to go through your e-mail, you could fit in a good workout? We’re not talking about giving up 60 minutes either; all you need is 10.

Just 10?

Forget the "all or nothing" mentality when it comes to exercise. Fitness does not live or die by 60-minute workouts; there is middle ground. Short spurts of exercise, when they accumulate, have been shown to share similar benefits of longer workouts.

Your body will reap numerous benefits just by becoming more active. This approach is perfect for times when you don’t have time for a regular workout, or when you want to start off slowly and build up a routine.

Easier Than You Think

Treat these 10 minutes like you would a regular workout. Take 1-2 minutes to warm up and get the muscles ready, including stretching. Follow with at least 7 minutes of exercise at a medium or high intensity. Then make sure to include a 60-second cool down.

Am I too tight? I really think my body just doesn't like fill, or my brain cannot comprehend the band. I only have 1cc and I know I shouldn't compare myself to others, but it seems so tight. It is 10:30 am now and I have had nothing. I am not hungry, but I am thirsty. When I drink, the Water just sits in my chest and hurts. I tried warm water too and the same result. Yesterday, I didn't have anything solid until 5:30pm. All I had earlier in the day was some Medifast soup(basically broth) to get some Protein in. I have had my fill for 2 weeks, so it shouldn't just be the adjustment period. I did have a BAD PB on Monday, but I did liquids for 24 hours. My surgeon thought my slip was due to being too tight for too long last time. I really don't want to be unfilled, but what do you gals think? I am able to eat a small dinner, but I feel tightness in my chest most of the day. I thought it may be sinus/allergy realated, but I have been on Flonase for 2 weeks as well. HELP!

socalgal - I say too tight. Get them to take out a few tenths. You don't want to risk slippage again. I get tightness in the am too, but you should be able to eat something. just my two cents.

I'll probably go for an unfill. It is so frustrating that I can't tolerate fill. It seems so strange since everyone else has 2cc or more and can still eat. I have managed to eat a Protein Bar so far today. It took me an hour to get it down.

Hey just go for an unfill. Just have them take out .2 or .3. You should immediately see a difference. In the future only get .2 or .3. That's all I usually get. THis time he gave me .4 before I could say anything. I am noticing a difference, but I'm still on liquids. I have gurgled twice on liquids, but its gone away after about 15 minutes.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hey Everyone!

Well, it's been a week (from hell) I think. I finally got moved to Shreveport, La and started my work out in the field. On Sunday though, I fell and pulled some tendons on my ankle and have been on crutches this week. It's been exhausting.

I have no idea how my weight is doing ....I've not been able to weigh in a month and I have no idea where my scale is.

I will try to catch up on all the reading I've missed. I hope everyone is doing alright.

I wanted to pop in and say hello.

Melissa glad you're moved, sorry about your ankle. I hope it heals soon and you get back on your feet. :)

Don't worry about the scales. You are probably better off leaving them hidden. Maybe you will have a pleasant surprise when at last you weigh.

Keep in touch and let us know how things are going for you and your Dad.

Pinkylee- You're so sweet! Thanks for your nice words about my arms..and the rest of me!

I started tanning today. I haven't bothered in many years. But I bought a size 14 tankini for the summer and I figure what the heck!

I think I am too tight also. I got a fill 3 weeks ago today. He gave me .6. I did the liquid/mushy thing and well I am still kinda doing it. I have tried hot tea, hot coffee and I am PB'ing anyway. Last night I couldn't sleep. It felt like my esophagus was having spasms. When I got to work this morning I looked on WebMD and didn't see anything about spasms in your esophagus..only acid reflux. I bought some Pepcid on the way home from work and then I tried to eat some refried Beans. After about 2 bites they came back up. So far today I have had a sugar-free applesauce, a cup of coffee, 2 bites of cottage cheese and the refried beans don't count since they didn't stay down. My esophagus has improved but it is still burning.

I have never had heartburn in my life so who knows. Maybe the tight band is causing it. Two days ago I ate really good and then today I am living on NOTHING!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
