1. Is the Breakfast biscuit "Belvita" a good nutritional choice ?

2. What is the final verdict on carbonated beverages such as seltzer or mineral Water ?

The best way to know if something is a good food choice is to read the label then decide if it fits into the plan your nutritionist gave you.

As for carbonation, there is no final word on it. Some doctors allow it and others don't. When in doubt, always follow your own doctor's guidelines.

Best wishes.

My nutritionist gave me guidelines.. Protein should be 10% of total Calories... sugar under 5 grams .. also if you track your calories include everything in your total...my doc says no carbonation but some don't have a problem with it.. I drink Water, wyler's peach tea and coffee..

agree with mis and sharp

the carbo rule is what YOUR doctor advised you to do...if you want to know, def ask them...as they are the ones who gave you this tool to use correctly.

the cracker i have never heard of and had to google it..(sorry i must not get out much in the real world) but it seems not be very filling/protein wise..but if you like it go for it. it looks good to me but not as a Protein meal.

anyhow, have a great day

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
