I get heartburn from everything after the band. I have take a Prilosec daily.

I won't moan now lol...it only seems to be ham for me...although that does mean no more burnt bacon :-/

No heartburn, thank GOD!! I don't think I can live with daily heartburn. I would have my band slightly loosen.

Yeah I'm thinking that constant heartburn is not a good thing. My Dr. always asks me if I have any of those feelings.

I hope not to ever have them. I remember how they felt when I was pregnant...it's not a feeling I'd like to experience again

I started getting heart burn for the first time after my first fill. I stayed away from the foods that I thought were causing it. Then after my 2nd fill I haven't gotten HB since, even when I eat those foods (chocolate and coffee). Very odd!

Sometimes the band just causes lifelong heartburn for some people even with no Fluid. At least a daily Prilosec is an easy solution.

I developed heartburn after surgery when my band was too tight, I have loosened the band and it has gotten better. On occasion i get heartburn when I haven't eaten.

I sometimes get mild heartburn. I actually experienced it a little while ago after eating some noodles and veggies. I just take chewable antacids and keep on moving. Don't really have it everyday.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
