Unfortunately, every doctor has different pre-op requirements. I would check with your doctor's office just to be sure what they recommend. Best wishes to you!!

You need to check with your surgeon. They will tell you what you should be doing. It can be confusing at first, and they know that, so call away!

Everyone's instructions are different. Mine is 2 weeks (based on my BMI) of 2 meal replacing shakes a day and 1 cup of greens, 1 cup of fruits and 5-7oz of lean Protein depending on what the source is- (5 for beef or up to 7 for fish, I was told). Tomorrow will be my 6th day on the pre-op diet. I cheated once. You can use the "my fitness pal" app to track what you're consuming, gives you a great breakdown of what ratios of fat/carbs/protein based on what is entered into your food "diary". Then you can ask your surgeon or nutritionist what range they want you to stay in~

When I had my first appointment, I met with the dietician, billing person, RN, had EKG, and met the doctor. All of my pre-op tests etc., were then scheduled

When I was first approved, they asked if I wanted to meet with them or my own physician. I chose my own because of the driving distance. So basically I meet with my own personal doctor for the 3rd time tomorrow. We are just discussing exercise ideas and calorie counts. I will meet with the actual nutritionist, surgeon, etc on Sept 16 for the first time. I think that is why I may have questions still because I haven't dealt with them personally yet. At this point I feel like I am on my own trying to cut back and lose a little weight each month if possible. I have a hard time with calories so I think counting weight watcher points are easier. Right now I'm doing the SHRED diet just to get me going because it's fast. I have only lost 5 lbs so far, trying to stay motivated and definitely excited for the band.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
