Hi hunny! I got a lot of pain to, my surgery was may 1st, and I explain to my doctor that I was in a lot of pain, some days worst then others, and some days it would throb or feel extra warm, she told me not to worry because in order for it to heal its gonna take 6 months to year after surgery was done. Now if you have it more then a year call your doctor ASAP, see what's going on.

Since you are newly banded, yes, it will stay sore for awhile.

Hang in there. It does get better.

Heyyyyy, honey! I'm glad Dr. gave you meds for your pain. Now, is this your FIRST post after being BANDed, or did I miss your first one??? I guess what I want to ask is how did you cope with your nerves the day of the surgery??? Also, it's normal to "regret" the surgery the first two to three days, as we are coping with being in pain, not being able to eat much, and even not sleeping well.... But all that will soon go away, and you'll be a happy camper!! I

So glad you finally did it!! Now remember, don't expect ANYTHING from anyone. Be your own cheerleader and don't let people around you ruin your day and your journey!! (((HUGS)))

Hot Butterfly said it so well ~ I sure do like that ~ Don't expect anything from anyone and be your own cheerleader!!

Hang in there, I did have what sounds like the same pain, that came and went and yes the stitches to the abdominal wall can be a bit tender. So no gymnastics or crazy stuff for you girl for a bit!

Be kind to yourself and do keep moving!!!! Small frequent walks....it's amazing what that does for a speedier, healthier recovery!

take care

This is not my first post after being banded. They way I coped with my nerves the day of surgery is I put it out of my mind. I though about my bills being paid and I looked at magazines and I played a game on my phone staying busy was very key for me! I am my own cheerleader I have to make this life style change also thank you I will not put up with ppl trying to ruining my life and what I'm suppose to do in life! Thank you :0) !

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
