Did u do a preop diet? I lost 19 during my preop. Then 8 pound the first week I started at 264. Then it really slowed to 1 to 2 pounds a week. I don't think its uncommon to lose quickly right in the beginning, but don't get discouraged if it slows. Good luck

Yes, I lost very quickly in the beginning and then slowed down. Just keep doing the right things and you will have continued success. Just remember that this is a journey and a new way of life, not a quick fix. Good luck fellow bandster!

like with all things, it varies so there is no set amount to lose at any time

larger bmi people tend to lose more at the beginning the some who werent as large as i was when i started...pre and post op liquid diet is mainly Water weight and it a wonderful start to help motivate us to keep going..so you just keep following your doctors instructions as to what to eat etc and the weight you are to lose, will happen according to your body. congrats on your surgery

You're doing great! Actual weight loss varies from person to person, but keep in mind it is possible to gain a little post-op during Bandster Hell, which is pretty normal according to my doctor. Just hang in there and don't give up. Congrats on your new journey! :)

I gained post op, until my third fill. Everyone is different. I lost a bit of weight, but I notice that the weight loss stopped, so I am going back for another fill next week.

I am ten days postop. I lost 9 pounds before the surgery (starting at 235) and 6 pounds in the first week after surgery. Now, at day 10 the weight loss seemed to slow down.

Everyone is different as you have caught on to. I lost 30 lbs quite readily and than it slowed once I started needing fills. You will not lose 10s of pounds a week for too long, especially once you start eating your solids again. Be mindful that if you do that that is not something to strive for and you'll need to incorporate more calories. But you have another month or so before than. Until than, enjoy the loss, take advantage and best of luck :)

I started pre op at 475. Lost 25 down to 450 with two week pre op diet. Lost 28 pounds first week on liquids. I called nurse because that concerned me. She said not to worry because I would gain up to 20% of that back when I started mushy and solid (and to not get discouraged). When I switched over I gained every single day for a total of about 12 pounds! I have no idea how I gained weight eating 800-1000 calories a day while weighing 431 pounds!

I bumped my calories yesterday to about 1200 (mostly by eating half of a Mimi's muffin that I grossly underestimated the calories on) and I had my first lost since switching to solids. Down 2.5 today. Hopefully my body is recovered and adjusted and ready to "let go" again.

That's my same question. I'm 2 days post op. and I know the scale might not move tremendously but I hope it moves.

I was just worried about loosing too much to quick, 4lbs in one day seems a little extreme

I am 3 months post op with no pre surgery diet. As of today I am down 78 lbs. I average 10 lbs a month. Since june 13th i am down 11 lbs. my first week I lost 9lbs.

Everyone is different. I was a big soda drinker and literally would go to work and sit all day then come home and sit. So my body went thru a big huge change. My first month I was down 30. My aunt was recently banded her 1 month post op she was down 27 lbs.

I still struggle so I only weigh myself once a week. Certain days the scale will be up and then 2 days later it old drop 2 lbs.

As my doc says only his scale counts. I have 6ccs in my 10cc band.

I am going on vacation next week so I would normally get my fill this week but doc said to enjoy myself. It will be my 4th fill.

I did the same, it won't last. Just keep following the rules. Be happy with it for now.

the first week I lost 5 lbs since you're mostly doing liquids it can happen like that...it varies person to person....and don't get fustrated if it starts to slow down a bit...its all apart of the process...sounds like you're doing good...keep following your doctor's advice and keep up the good work :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
