When you go to get a unfill for being too tight

How much don they usually take out?

I haven't needed an unfill yet, but I think if you tell them exactly how you feel and what you can eat they should know the amount to take out. Good luck!

It depends on the issue you are having. It can be all, 1 cc, etc. Again, it depends.

They told me if I have a prob they will take part of the fill they just entered. I was curious. No big problems thank god just too tight to eat solids. No vomiting everything goes down and stays just uncomfortable

It depends on many factors, not least of which is your dr's policies. Expect to be asked about how much you can eat, whether you can keep drinks down, how long since your last fill, how you felt before that fill, how much that fill was.

I have had 1cc put in, was too tight, then had half of that removed (and she could hear my saliva gurgling through the band as she withdrew it too).

That was more than enough to have removed. I am going back today to have 0.25cc replaced.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
