But have to get more as soon as my cup is empty. I made it upstairs when I got jome. Been getting up and walking around. Also picked up some gas x strips. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

I hope its better too! Day 2 has been rough for me. Totally having the dry mouth situation too. I've only been able to drink a few ounces at a time.

Very sore! Hoping day 3 is better.

I'm having trouble making myself sip Water and fluids slowly. I just want to chug a gallon right now. Lol. Still pretty sore. Have a coldpack on my port incision. Feeling sore/pulling when I stand up straight. Just took my pain meds. Nap time for this girl. Talk to ya all soon. Hope you're having a good day.

Better today? I'm still sore but overall better. This pressure between my breast is no joke though. I sat up too long yesterday and paid for it with incision pain last night. Not doing that again.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Today was not a pretty day. Seriously having flashbacks from waddling around after I had my son. Not nearly as thirsty today. Only got down 2 ensure clears instead of my goal of 3. Had some chicken broth and Water too but nowhere near what I drank yesterday. Not feeling hungry so much as the urge to hibernate. Really just want to sleep til all the pain is gone. My sister leant me her girdle thing from when she had her gallbladder out. Let me tell you. It's been my best friend today. Not sure why... but everything feels better when it's all smooshed in and supported. Hopefully not hurting anything by wearing it to bed. Tomorrow is another day. Hope ya all are well.

My procedure is for July 31st. I'm anxiously nervous. I am doing it for my 3 kids. I'm 5'3 and after gaining and not losing weight from pregnancies I am so miserable at my current weight . I hope this surgery gets me to my goal of 140. My knees and back also always hurt. I feel huge and awful and I can't stand it anymore. I haven't shared my weight with anyone im too embarrassed not even family or hubby know my weight and only my parents and husband know about surgery.

Hunny I have the same story as you gained weight when I got pregnant and never lost it. I'm 5'4 and I even get banded on the same day as you! Keep in touch hun I'd love to hear from you!

Today is day 7 post op. I have a horrible topic to bring up. I just had my first bowel movement since before my surgery. So.. first time in 7 days or so. I didn't think anything of it since I haven't been eating any solids. Well... let me tell you something. ... that hurt. This will sound horrible so I'm just gonna spit it out. It felt like giving birth to a rock monster. Is this normal? Is this what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life... because if so... I'm gonna start buying stock in stool softener or somethin.

Sorry again to bring up such a gross topic.

Yes - many of us have either Constipation or diarrhea post-op. It took 4 days post-op for me to have a BM. Go to the other posts about this - but I am 2 weeks post-op and started adding a heaping tablespoon of ground Flax Seed (you can buy it at Whole Foods and/or Costco) to my daily Protein shakes. They add no flavor to the shakes but they do make you regular and it is soft. It gets better.... hang in there.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
