Slippage perhaps????

Recommended Posts

I seen the doctor on Tuesday (I hadn't ate anything yet). Told him I had been having some trouble but he just thought it was from stress do to family matters. After I left and went to eat, I couldn't eat anything. Now on day 3 still unable to eat. Some liquids stay down and some don't. No food will go down, not even milk magnesium. Just wondering if I could have a slip.

when were you banded? how full is your band? So you saw him on Tues and he did a fill? how much saline? don't start worrying about a Slip, but if your concerned check my signature line to read about complications.

Sounds more like your just too tight, scar tissue builds-up under the band and can cause a tightening..sounds like you need a slight un-fill.

I'm not sure I believe "the stress" excuse that the Doctors use to pacify us  I went through Divorce, moved around the country and all that while banded, and never had a problem being tight because of that stress.

This is just my personal experience with a slip:

Last year, I started having severe nightime reflux - so bad I'd wake up with brown gunk (sorry if it's tmi) on my pillow. Went to my primary care and he gave me Prilosec. Finally after being miserable for 4 mths (was afraid band dr would unfill me), I had an xray - I had a slight slip. He did partially unfill me. nIn the last year, I gained about 30 lbs.

2 mths ago, I started having severe abdominal pain for 4 days. At midnight, I could't take it anymore and went to the ER. After a ct, I was diagnosed with a herniated band - wasn't just a slip anymore. My band had totally made it's way down my stomach till my stomach was protruding over it. They totally unfilled me and told me I'd need a revision.

Awaiting a sleeve revision now.

So, I think for a slip, you'd have more symptoms than just not being able to keep something down. But, I've heard of some people with no symptoms at all, just ability to eat more. If you don't have relief by say Monday, I'd give your dr a call. Just in case. Good luck!

I got the band in Nov 2012, 58 lbs down, a couple of days ago I felt as if I had pulled a back muscle, but lately it's severe muscle spasms. You think my band could've cause the pain?

if you had a recent fill, it sounds like you are over filled.

I had the same problem back in October. I lost 10 lbs in 3 days and was on the verge of being dehydrated. I was overfilled. As soon as they took out half of what they had put in i was able to eat and drink again.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
