Oh....Hello appetite....Now go AWAY!!

Recommended Posts

Well I'm at about day 9 of post op and here comes my appetite back!! I'm so sick of liquids, I started to puree foods, but I found myself snacking on them throughout the day - instead of set meals. I made chicken salad and it was so good it seemed like was constantly going by the fridge getting a spoonful.. If I don't eat I have NO ENERGY!! I'm also having a hard time getting fluids in, 1, I have a hard time sipping, esp when it's this hot out. and 2, they just feel "sloshy" in my stomach...

OH, and, I STILL have the CO2 gas pains in my left shoulder....will that EVER go away??

I'm so looking forward to feeling 'normal' again...

walk, walk, walk and maybe try a heating pad on the shoulder....it helped me. Others have used gas-x.

Maybe try blending some fruit into your Protein Shakes to thick them up. I blend mine with bananas and ice to make it similar to milkshake consistency.

Hang in there!

Like the last poster, I blend but I use Decaf coffee instead of Water with a chocolate flavored Protein, crushed ice and a lapband mocha drink is made.

My fav brand protizyme. Flavor is chocolate cake.

Jumping jack arm movements helped me with shoulder gas pains.

Good luck.

What about putting the chix salad in individual serving containers. Eat all or nothing, and maybe you will stay away from it or be forced to track it.

Spoon and the fridge. Gotten me in trouble many times.

How much Protein is in you Protein Shakes? Mine has 23 grams per 8 oz, so I can have 4 glasses a day and get my Protein in. It is the only thing that gets me through the day and I'm not weak or tired. I'm on liquids only right now. Still have head cravings for food though, but not bad. I've got that stupid shoulder pain also. How long have you had yours? I hope mine goes away soon. Good luck

I too am still having the shoulder pain. I am 6 days post-op and feeling hungry. Not sure if it's head hunger or actual hunger. I am finishing fluids and to start mushy foods in the next day or two.

Hunger will improve as you add more solid Proteins. Measure what you eat... Spoon in the frig is a recipe for overeating! Hang in there, it will get better!

I had the left shoulder pain too! It's actually the vega nerve. Probably the tubing rubbing up against it. It goes away. I still have that pain tho if I have I bite too many. ( based 10/5/12)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
