Has anyone had a rash all over since their surgery?

Recommended Posts

I have not changed laundry detergent or anything, but since my surgery April 30th, I have a rash. It is all over my legs, arms and stomach. It is driving me nuts. Has anyone else had this happen? Need to go see dr, but just curious.

I didn't all over but I noticed a bit of one by my glue (on top of the stiches-Im thinking since its the same doc you have the same wounds)

It sounds like a allergic reaction-are you taking any of the meds still that you were not taking before? What about Protein Drinks have you switched those? Call Wilkenfeld and ask what they think of course... I've called multiple times with ridiculous questions but they have been super helpful

Someone else posted recently, who also had a rash. It turned out to be from the whey in the Protein Drinks. She switched to egg white Protein, but I haven't seen her post the outcome.

I had a very itchy rash with bright red dots all over my stomach, side, and lower breast area. I talked to my doctor about it and he said its most likely due to the anticeptic solution they used right before surgery.

I used a hydro cortizone cream for about a week and it went away.

I have a rash also! I think it's from the iodine they put on my stomach before the surgery. I have an appointment tomorrow and will find out more.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
