To sip or not to sip, that is the question
The no gum rule is due to accidental swallowing of the gum. If this happens it can cause big problems getting stuck and not dissolving.

Has anyone had a rash all over since their surgery?
I had a very itchy rash with bright red dots all over my stomach, side, and lower breast area. I talked to my doctor about it and he said its most likely due to the anticeptic solution they used right before surgery. I used a hydro cortizone cream for about a week and it went away.

Greek Yogurt = high protein
Sounds delicious! I'll have to try it!

Greek Yogurt = high protein
I've tried Greek yogurt in the past and never liked it. I always thought it was too thick so I wasn't a fan. Recently I've tried plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream...on baked potatoes, meatless chili, etc. It is really good and has 17 grams of protein. Don't get me wrong it doesn't taste as good as sour cream but it's an excellent substitute.

7th day of clear liquids
Today is the 7th day of clear liquids and I feel really weak. My banding is tomorrow so I can make it, but it's been a rough week.

Why the upper GI?
I had to do the same. I asked why they did this and they told me so there are no surprises when the Dr. performs surgery (ulcers, tumors, etc).

# of years with the lap band
Hi Everyone, I'm just curious to see how many years everyone has had the lap band. I'm will be banded on 4-22 and haven't read many over 5 years. I'm just curious about the long term success rate with the same band.

doctors note
I have to turn in a doctors note to my employer to take a few days off for lap band surgery. I don't want anyone at work to know and would like the note to be as discrete as possible. Can anyone give advise on this? Also, what are you telling co-workers? Thanks.
