Over halfway to my goal!

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery last October and it was my goal to lose all my weight within 1 year (still a goal but still not sure I will make it). I started at 319lbs and I'm at 254lbs as of this morning! 65lbs down and 46 to go! OK I'm done ranting, thank you and good day....

Thank you all! A lot tougher than I thought it would be but then again not too hard when you do the right things. Got to have a plan, like everything in life.

Way to go!!!!!! Keep your eye on the prize. Goals are good to have to keep us motivated. Sometimes we need to change our modify our goals and sometimes its good to also make smaller goals.

....and this is why we fail. I'm not saying a person can't lose all the weight within a year but it should not be about how long it takes. None of us got to be fat overnight, and we're not going to lose it overnight either. Good for you hondoford that you modified your goals and did not go into 'failure' mode. You will reach your goal.

i think you are doing great!!!! i had my surgery oct5,and around christmastime,i saw a cousin that i have not seen since the summer before,by then i had lost about 45 lbs(thats including the liquid diet pre surgery)....and i was telling him how im losing but its sooo slow...he looked at me and said "are you crazy? who loses 45 lbs in 2 months without excercising?? all the fat people in the world would kill for that!!"....And those words put everything into prespective for me.

Wow I would say that too; I'm in the gym 4 times a week, 2 hours each time and its still hard! You are doing awesome!

The best tip I've received and has worked well for me is: Don't eat after 6:30PM....anything! Water and that's it after 6:30PM. That in combo with the gym is where I've seen the biggest changes.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
