Hi! My surgery is scheduled for Monday, May 6th. This pre-op diet is getting on my nerves, I'm irritable at times, but, I'm making it. When people ask me if I'm excited...my reply usually is " is an alcoholic excited to go into DETOX?"

I'm anxious.

I'm confused (about trying to cook for a family and then myself)

I'm nervous

I'm scared

BUT, I have noticed (after being on preop diet for 6 days) that my clothes are looser on me, and that gives me a feeling of affirmation that I am doing the right thing.

I worry, because I have a friend that didn't really loose much weight after hers, and now weighs more than before her surgery.

That sums it up. I'm very thankful to have found this site, and appreciate hearing from people exactly in the same place as me.

I guess I just want to look into a crystal ball and see the future. Is it worth it?

Does anyone have a goal of how much they want to lose on their pre op diet? I know everyone is different and every diet is different. Mine will be Protein Drinks and one small meal a day. I'm hoping to lose about 10 lbs a week so 20 total. Does this seem like a good goal? Just curious about what others think.

I think 15-20 lbs before surgery is realistic. I'm hoping for a 15 lb loss. I'm 6 days into my pre-op diet and have lost 8 lbs. But I do know as women we can fluctuate on a daily basis so I'm just hoping for the best in 8 days. :)

Hi everyone! My surgery date is May 6th. I am one week into preop diet. I am getting a little worried that I am eating to much. If I can't take it, I grab some fresh carrots or fresh green Beans. I feel like that is cheating? what do you think?

My surgery is set for may 7th

So far on my pre op I have felt like a failure because I keep messing up- once I ate a few bites of Pasta before realizing and I feel like I'm still eatin too much on my meal but I was happy when I got on the sale this morning to see its going down.

Original weight the day I went in was 235 (my sale said 238-240)

Pre op was two-three days into my pre op diet (the 24th) and I weighed at 236. But I forgot to weigh at home.

This morning my scale at home said 224.5 and when I checked to make sure that was right it said 223.5

Gives me some motivation that I'm doing something right :)

You can do it!! I'm not going to lie, it's tough. BUT, it's worth it!! I have lost 11 pounds in the first 7 days, today is the 8th (of 14).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
