For me the answer is no. When I pb it's not a violent puking. It just comes out like a slimy burp. Have u ever seen a dog when it starts to throw up? It reminds me of that. When I pb ( productive burping) which I very seldom do. U can't hear me. If I puke, the whole world can hear me I don't heave when I pb

It's PB and I agree with Suzanne, it's not as bad but if you do this with every meal you could dilate your pouch and or esophogus.

It's a sign that something is wrong, not necessarily that your band is too tight, but that you may have eaten a bit too much, too fast or didn't chew enough. If it happens a lot or appears to be getting worse, you need to see your band doctor.

PBing isn't violent, but if I have to, at least, I can't stop it. I have had to have the car pulled over so I could get out to do it. Sometimes, its just alittle, usually PBing is a lot of phlem coming up!

If I PB, it usually hurts my chest quite a bit. I don't enjoy it. I haven't had a vomit episode with the band yet. I am very careful. I had to pull over this weekend, it kind of sucked. My son laughed at me. Isn't he sweet.

I have been burping up foamy slime every time I eat, usually about two bites into a meal, I feel like I have food stuck but after this nasty foamy stuff comes up I seem to be able to eat fine. This even happens when I eat yogurt so I know it's not because I don't chew enough. I can't go out to eat or eat with people because I know I'll have this problem, I also burp ALOT!! Any suggestions, comments, help??? Thank You all sooooo much!!

@@Janie Altman Bennett how long have you been banded?

Sometimes if your band is too tight you will have trouble swallowing even your own saliva and that can cause a nasty back up we call slime. I have had this happen to me before when I get sick and my band is too tight. I will take some Fluid out until I am better so that eating and drinking is not such a struggle, and I find that if I don't and I battle through it I don't recover and heal as quickly.

I can't advise since I don't know if you are a new surgery patient or have had your band for a while. Either way I would call your Dr. and see what their advice is taking out a tiny bit of Fluid may be all you need.

Two years out and I'm still having trouble convincing my family that a PB is not a vomit and they don't need to freak out. I'm not sick, I don't need to have the band removed. I just took a bite of the Olive Garden bread stick that I used love so much! Sigh.... Lol!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
