1st year vs. 2nd year:Fills

Recommended Posts

Did you make it to the "green zone" in your first year or second year?

And, did you lose more weight in the 1st year or 2nd?

I know we are not to compare- just looking for some feedback.

I hit the Green Zone about 4 months into my first year. The weight definitely came off a lot faster the first year than it is during this second year but that's also because I had more to lose.

I lost about 175 pounds the first year and about 25 pounds 3 months into the second year.

It took me 4 mths to get there too (3rd fill). I lost about 75 lbs the first year, 25 lbs the 2nd. The last few are definitely the hardest to get off!

Hope that answers your question

Same here....First fill 30 days after surgery, then 2 more every 30 days...total of 3 in 4 months.....

I hit my green zone every three months, but I extended my fills through the second year in which I've lost the most weight. I have 6-8 pounds to go. Now I have to really focus on exercise. I'm still at a 5.75 cc in 10cc band. Still eating about 3/4 cup food.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
