Also important to take up a hobby especially if you are a snacker. I started crocheting to keep my hands busy. Water is definitely the answer

I have taken up sleeping as my new hobby lol :)

I wonder if we have the same surgeon. Mine deal is shakes and liquids only with the exception of sf Jello and sf popsicles, oh and broth if I'm gonna die. I'm on day 19 of this liquid diet and surgery is Thursday. Hang in there.

Day 4... I am still struggling....

I would be a mess if I woke up and the doctor didn't do the surgery. I am going to call tomorrow and ask about the Protein. I understand not having sugar and carbs but the nurse also told me you won't be hungry!! What a joke. This is hell and I consider myself very strong willed. I have lost 6lbs since I started the shakes Friday morning. I understand shrinking the liver is important but I still feel 14 days with nothing but shakes is unrealistic.....

that is the exact reason i did not cheat.

i can honestly say that and its not said with arrogance

it was done solely so i did not wake up and dr said, guess what.

it made me try harder.

Now I'm a bit scared, I do not want to wake up on my surgery and find out that nothing happened because I cheated one day!!! But the patient advocate told me that I can cheat one day since it was my birthday. I ate at IHOP a 330 calorie omelette, side order of hashbrowns and 2 cups of coffee w/splenda and for dinner 2 hotwings and alot of veggies with regular ranch, 2 beers, 2 shots, 1 mix drink....didn't get to eat much because I got busy with my guest. HELP!! What should I do to make up for this day. More Water? more Protein uugghhh!!! my surgery is this coming thursday.

My Doctor did not require the 2 week pre-op diet.

Seems extreme to me.

Just seeing how its going for you? I'm on day 13, one day of liquids to go! I tried counting down to make it seem better, before I knew it, one day left before my op. exciting and scary at the same time

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
