I had my first fill today with flouroscopy. The surgeon put 5 cc in my 10 cc band. Back to liquids for 24 hours.

Yes....but more importantly, you AND your Doctor, KNOW what your restriction level is. NO GUESSING! ALL fills should be this way in my opinion.

How are you feeling?

I can't really feel the difference yet since I am on liquid right now. But the fill is no biggie. It took less than 10 min for the procedure.

Can you tell the difference?

Yes I can feel the difference. It's harder to get all the liquids down but it's better in the long run. My band started at 3cc,now I am at 4cc.

LOL! Now I can feel the difference. I had chicken for lunch I think I had a bit too big of a bite and I felt it. It feels like something is in the middle of my chest below my sternum. It was a bit annoying/uncomfortable but not painful. Guess I have to really slow down and take smaller bites.

I feel sort of the same as before the fill but i am also being very cautious and conscious about how i am eating! Lol

I go back in 3 weeks for another fill.....i wonder if then it will be more noticeable?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
