I was losing any where for 4-7 lbs a month until recently. It's like I hit a brick wall, but my inches are going down, so I guess my weight will in time to.

I was doing great then fell back into old habits.Eating late at nigtht is my worst issue. I have maintained where I am at now which is over a hundred pounds from my highest weight, but seem to gain and lose the same 5 to 10 pounds over the last few months.

My first (note FIRST) major plateau was from about 6-8 months out. I didn't do anything wrong, but I finally figured out that I needed to change things up if I was going to break through it. Stepping up the exercise and changing up my eating (even more Protein and less of everything else) was and is my secret.

I lost slowly but steadily the first year-15 months, but developed a motility disorder which caused maladaptive eating and stalled my weight loss. My band was unfilled last June and I've lost 20 lb since then.

Things are improving with the motility issues and hopefully that will continue.

My biggest plateau was 9 months after surgery. I went on the birth control pill and my weight loss came to a screeching halt for 6-7 weeks. It was incredibly frustrating.

The way I finally broke it was by carb cycling for a few weeks. Ever since I've been consistently losing approximately 8-12 pounds a month.

It was about at the 150 lost mark... I still had 70 lbs to go and went about 6 weeks sticking to my plan without losing. At 4 wks without a loss I went to the dr because I was so frustrated and he gave me a slight fill but it didn't help much. I think I lost a lb in 2 weeks. Then on the seventh week... I dropped 5 lbs and I was back on track. Stalls are tough but if you stick it out... They will pass and the losing will return.

The last 10 pounds were the hardest. Now it is just maintenance. The journey continues every day!

I am in my plateau right now. I have only been banded for 2 months. I did really well the 1st month with a 27 lb lost, and in the last month have only lost 1 lb. However, I am trying not to feel to discouraged. I know everybody is going to hit a plateau at sometime, and probably more than once on their weight loss journey. I just look at it as being part of the deal.

I was banded Nov. 16th and I have been hitting a plateau. Losing very very slow. I really need to make better choices and work out more. I'm sure if I ate a little better it would start to come off. I get my next fill tomorrow and hope I can lose 6 lbs this next month!!

Whew...so glad I found this post! I am just getting past my first big plateau! Yesterday was my 6 month bandiversary, and I had hit quite the stand still from 5-6 months. Inches were coming off, but the scale was not moving! I had an over-fill, had to go in for a small un-fill and during that time gained about 4 pounds back (which in the scheme of things is not a lot of weight, but to me, it felt like tons!) Proud to say, that I have now lost those 4 pounds, plus another 2 pounds! I am back on track!

I stalled after 2 months and have been playing with the same 4 pounds since December..SO frustrating! I have been working out since I healed, and have lost 6 inches overall, so I know things are working, but it is really difficult to remain optimistic and patient! My hubs keeps telling me to stop obsessing over it and let it take time...I did not get this size in 6 months, why would I expect to lose it all in 6 months? So, I take a deep breath and concentrate on what and when I eat and hope for a new, lower plateau.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
