You are all so great!! I am thrilled I'm down 23lbs but I've been pretty consistent with weight loss so far so I'm bummed it stopped this week! I'm aware that this stage is for waking- that's why I'm on soft foods still. I'm sure I will catch up just like everyone including my NUT told me. Just had to vent this morning!

Jennifer,

We had our surgeries on the same day. I too, have been struggling since surgery with weight loss. The first two weeks were great, but since I moved to mushies/soft foods, I'm not losing at all. I'm also finding myself more hungry. I go for my first fill on the 15th (next Friday). I also struggle with very severe headaches which limits my walking at times, as does the weather. I finally went to the YMCA and joined yesterday, but today I find myself snowed in! LOL. I'm hoping to be able to do Water aerobics soon...I have 1 incision that is not healing because the superglue got attached to my hospital gown and it ripped my skin off and it's not healing. (GRRR!!) But the other incisions are healed and look great! It's always something and I'm trying to not let too much get me down. My headaches are horrible and while I am in limbo with doctors trying to figure out what to do with the treatment of those is why I decided to do lap band while I have been off work in the first place. I figured I might as well work towards something productive, so here I am. :) I have noticed the scale is juggling between 3 and 4 lbs back and forth. I figure it will fall off eventually and stay off when it is ready. Apparently it's water weight. I tend to hold water anyway. I'm hoping the Dr gives me a good fill next week as I am finding myself hungry quite a bit. I'm ready to see the scale move! Try not to get too discouraged, it will happen. We just need to be patient. I know it's hard....because we are so eager...

I hear ya. I've been trying not be discouraged as well. I lost 17 lbs the first week after surgery. Now, in the second week, the scale hasn't budged. I know that this is a time for healing but I can't help but feel anxious and impatient.

I get my first fill on Friday. I'm so nervous that they won't be able to find my port!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
