Penni ~ Have the moderators considered getting input from their members? I know a thread was posted not long ago asking for input on new features. I wonder if a poll would be considered an option b4 making any changes. Of course, this isn't my site, but it is a suggestion.

OH believe me we will and do not make decisions without long consideration and input from Alex the owner of LBT.

Well it is almost 1am here and I am fried. But I can't sleep. I am going through some horrible insomnia the last few days and I am literally exhausted. I am running on fumes right now. So forgive me of anything weird I post. LOL!!

I have some pics of my granddaughters to post but that will wait till later. I am in conference mode for now.

Sorry for the hijack

Light dawns: At the moment the features are set so that people can edit their own posts for a period of 24 hours. The mods and site owner are still discussing how to handle this permanently, but that's how it is at the moment.

Why cant we leave the DELETE button on the threads that are started in the Lounge?

Possibly the entire Community Center? (Introductions, Lounge and Suggestions)

I hope we don't lose the edit button. If they want to take out the delete button, that's another story. But this forum will not survive my dyslexia.

Edit is my friend and yours people!:Banane56:

Paula, I'm curious as to why you think there should be a distinction among the forums with regard to this issue. What's the difference?

Remember, people, moderators can always delete threads if there's a real reason for it. All we want to do is prevent the wholesale disruption we've just seen by someone deleting threads without rhyme or reason.

So, to clarify...does this mean that:

We can no longer delete our own threads, or even our own posts?

We now have to ask permission from a moderator to delete posts?

Is this a final decision?

So can Mods go into the delete file and get (for example) my deleted post or pic from someone else's deleted thread?

Or, if I post on someone's thread and they delete it, I can still get something back that's "mine" with the help of a Mod?

So what's all the fuss? Nothing needs to be changed, IMO. Please leave it be! :nervous

This is not a final decision, no. The mods and site owner are still batting around the final change. As of right now, you can edit or delete your own posts for a period of 24 hours after creating them, but after that you can't. This may change, but for right now that's the way it is.

So can Mods go into the delete file and get (for example) my deleted post or pic from someone else's deleted thread?

The answer to your first two questions is yes, moderators still have access to anything that's been deleted from the public board. But there are concerns about whether it's appropriate to un-delete something at all when the person who did it had, at that time, every right to do it.

We're looking at how to prevent these problems in future. If the changes we put in place mean that people will think a few more seconds before posting something, I don't think that's all bad. And I don't think removing the ability to completely delete threads will in any way detract from the benefits of LBT.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
