I'm going to my first fill thursday (3/7/13) and I just made the mistake of watching a video on it... Ughhhj I have a serious fear of needles since I had cancer.. Is it painful? Does it hurt at all? I scared! :(

It is no more pan then getting blood drawn. Just don't look at the needle. It looks huge. It really was nothing though.

Honestly it's less much less than an iv. The pain is sharp but very very quick. Once needle is in it doesn't hurt at all for me. My doc is good too.

You just had major surgery, and a band wrapped around your stomach..........a fill is nothing compared to that. Some clinics can put a little freezing in. It is a pin prick, maybe some digging around with the fingers to find your port, but they make note of that and other fills will be easy. Don't fret too much as you may have to have many more fills/unfills in your banded life. Good luck.

I had my 4th fill yesterday, & it always is easy. They numb the area first so I'm good. I'm also afraid of needles, ironic because i have tattoos, lol. You'll do fine, good luck....

If they don't automatically do it, ask for lidocaine. It's a small needle that numbs the area before they put the big one in. I don't feel a thing once it's in there. Afterwards, when the numbness wears off, I'm sore and bruised for a couple of days...Good luck!

My surgery is on March 9th, I'm more scared of getting a fill because of the needle! When I was pregnant with my son I had to have 2 amino needles and it was excruciatingly painful. I'm dreading it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
