Just shoot me now. :faint:

*BANG!* hehe!

What.. no weddings or funerals to attend in June? Bah. Ya big baby! *grins*

Hang in there Penni and don't put yourself in last place on the priority list for too long. It's easy to wake up several years later and wonder how the hell you got so far off track. *hugs*

I am all about a Cruise Paula. We could do a Encenada cruise leaving from Los Angeles. Or whatever. I am so there. REALLY I AM!!

Susan, HAHA!! I have a graduation in June, a wedding and shower in July. SO THERE!!

Yes I will keep the July appt for sure. And I will discuss all my options when I speak with him. Obviously I can't do it on my own. I am up to 269 now. YIKES!! :help: :) :help:

Did those books get there, Penni?

OH yeah Sue and thanks. I have been so busy lately that I haven't even had time to read 'fun' books.

I would rather die a million painful deaths then have the lap band put back in! :angry I had to have three surgeries because of the lap band. :( I have the lap RNY and it feels and works so much better.:clap2: Thats just my honest opinion. Also the pain really isn't that much worse then the banding. Take care!

Hey, velaton, I'm going to look for an introduction from you! Have you posted one in the Intro Forum? Many folks would love to hear your story, and I'm sure Penni would as well, since she's facing this decision. Give us the scoop, and welcome to LBT!

I'd like to hear your story too as I am in the process of making up my mind. who did your RNY and why is it better?

No way in hell. Sorry, but the longer I've gone after erosion, the more I'm convinced that the band should only be a short-term implant. This is just based on my own personal experience, but I have one F-d up stomach these days. I know another girl in my same shoes (both banded & de-banded about the same time.)

Penni, you already eroded once... do you really want to take that chance again of possibly having another erosion, not knowing what shape it could leave your belly?

I'm already convinced that if I get back to 300, I will look into a bypass as my last hope of life, but no more band for me. Ouch, YIKES!

Mind you, I'm in my 40s with no children and my future seems kind of bleak considering how bad I struggle with food each day. I was pre-suicidal pre-band, which is why I decided to take such a drastic measure and run off to Mexico for a band. I know I'd feel the same way again at 300, which is why a bypass wouldn't seem as harsh as suicide.

Is that too honest?

Delarla, isnt eating way way too much (like you say you do and cant control) a really dangerous thing to do with the GB?

I know it abuses the band and the stomach to do so, (I am talking in an extreem way) .... but wouldnt it be really scary to have that problem with the GB?

My problem is almost the opposite,.. I really hate that full sick feeling.. and dont do it (like penni said about eating two hamburgers and fries (I would puke)... this is why I think the GB is a better option for me than the band...

In penni's case, I think the band is a great option that worked and thought I dont know whats its like go throuh losing the band.. I think I would get rebanded ..

I mean I personally would get the GB in a heartbeat if I could.,.

(Dumping syndrome would set my butt straight!!! lol)

wow, all this band removal talk is scary. i have no control of my band, it has a mind of its own. one day i can eat , the next nope. somedays i can drink in the morning, some days i have to wait till it relaxes. i cant figure a pattern. i dont eat much at all. i do drink lots of Water and Protein Shakes. i am losing very well. at this point i dont have damage that myself or dr. huacuz is aware of. i do check myself with xrays since i work in a hospital. but would i see if i have erosion? how do you know if you have erosion? is it painful.??

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
