I have exactly the same issues. I am 5 months out and have played with the same 4-5 pounds for over a month now. I upped my intake of Liquid Protein and that seems to help some, but still haven't gotten down beyond those same 4-5 pounds. I'll lose a couple, then gain them back, then lose them, then gain them. Some days I can eat anything and other days everything is a chore and I throw up. It's a roller coaster, but I am not discouraged! I'm still learning to respect the band and let it be the tool it's supposed to be. It will never be easy for me, but will be worthwhile. One other thing I might add. My support group consists of all gastric sleeve or bypass patients. I am the only bander. While their weight loss is fast and furious, I refuse to let that deter me. Even the nurse who leads the group does not advocate the band. I talked with my doc about it, and his feeling is that slow and steady will win the race. 2-3 years out, my weight loss will be comparable to others who have had other procedures. We have to look at the goal and walk toward it, never giving up!

wrong food will always call us and if we answer to often we will be right back to where we . Stick to your maybe plan on one day and one food you would like to treat yourself to. Track it and go to the chat room for some online right now help to stsy focused.

I'm still learning but a couple of things that have helped me is (1) pre-plan meals and Snacks each day, (2) track what I eat, and (3) use small utensils. By pre-planning I know what I'm going to eat so I'm not fixated on trying to decide each meal. Tracking makes me second guess what I eat because it makes me aware of the calories/fat/carbs/protein in foods. Therefore, I'm more likely to choose an orange over junk food. Using smaller utensils (the ones from the baby section) ensures I'm taking smaller bites. Hopefully this makes sense and is helpful. :)

Do you mean PB'ing or vomiting at every meal? Is this where your lower stomach is ejecting food you've eaten or are you just regurgitating stuck food?

If you are vomiting often you really should have already called your doctor. It is not normal whatever you eat.

Vomiting and weight loss. I was banded in May of last year and have lost 1 1/2 stone. Not much for the amount of time I have been banded. I gained half a stone over Christmas by eating wrong foods. I don't vomit only have twice when some meat got stuck ( my fault didn't chew well enough ) I have this last week started to get heartburn should I see a doctor?

Really? It isn't too bad at the moment .. I wonder if I eat too much? My portion size is greatly reduced. I don't feel sick or anything .. I will go though if you think I should

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
