Can not feel restriction...

Recommended Posts

I am almost 2 yrs post surgery. I love my band, however, recently I do not feel the restriction. I have been to the doctor for fills several times. Nothing.

Two weeks ago he did a fill check. Pulled all Fluid out and then refilled it to see exactly how much I have. My level is 6.2.

:( I can still eat. I am making bad choices.

So here are a few questions. I used to feel some pain when I had a good restriction. Now I have no pain. Is this how it is suppose to be? Or do I need another feel?

I miss that little pain I would get when I did not chew enough.

Please help.

i cant speak for fills as i have none...but making bad food choices is not helping you..

you have to make the decision to eat better foods.and not overeat just because you can....

and to wish for alittle pain when you eat seems not right to me...i want no pain what so ever....i am sure someone can offer more than i have but a trip to your surgeon and or nutritionist seems to be what you need.

Being tighter doesn't mean it will make you make better choices. Usually the opposite is true. Are you going about 4 hours before feeling hungry?

You shouldn't feel pain or gauge whether or not you need fill based on it.

To figure out if you need a fill, ask yourself: are you satisfied on a cup or less of food for 4 or more hours? If yes, then you likely don't need a fill. If no, you may need one.

Ultimately you should talk to your doctor and decide with him.

Also, have a look at the link at the bottom of my signature, I think it will help too.

Best wishes.

I do start to feel a bit hungry after a few hours.

Here is my day.

I have coffee in the morning and nothing until about 1pm.

lunch : Something small w/protein.

( I have to watch my Protein intake because of my cholesterol. Inherited.)

By the afternoon. I am starving and my band has loosened and I can eat.

It does not help that I am a stay at home mom, who homeschools. I dont want to talk bad about my surgeon. But there really is no support there.

I started off really well until about 8 mos ago. I took a bite of my daughters salad and it stuck, ended up having Fluid removed. Every since then, I can not get back to the sweet spot.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
