I'm new to the site but happy to have found it. I don't have a date yet, just that it will be in May. I've done everything required by the insurance company, now it's just a waiting game.

Nice to be in good company...Good Luck May Bandsters!

Howdy all!! I'm back from Kauai...it was an incredible trip. Apparently I love snorkeling!

I wanted to make note though of a few things:

1. I was unable to go on the tubing adventure because of a weight limit.

2. I couldn't go ziplining because of a weight limit.

3. My ankles from the flight looked like stove pipes once we landed.

4. The woman next to me tried to put the arm rest down on the plane and I had to move my fat out of the way.

Instead of getting upset...I've promised myself that I'm going back to do all the things I couldn't do this time. Also...I bought myself a sundress that I will be wearing when I go back. It's an xl...out of the regular size section of the store. I'm going to pin it up in my room and picture myself floating down the river in my tube...or ziplining through the trees! I also can't wait to have to pull the strap of the seatbelt on the lane so that my seatbelt is tight enough!

I can't wait for May 14th...

Leanne, thanks for sharing your experiences. All the things you listed are things I would want to do on vacation too... so I think your goal is awesome, and great idea about the dress. I had a similar experience with my ankles when I went to the Dominican Republic a couple of years ago. Funny thing, I was terrified to snorkel (I'm not all that comfortable in the water) and finally the second last day I did it... and I loved it too. Also, it was so hot there and I still felt I had to keep covered up - I would like to be able to wear a tank top and not feel embarrassed. Welcome home!

I'm 7 days pre op. I'm starving. I've already outgrown these shakes, Jello & broths.

I have another week before I start too...I've purchased the Magic Bullet blender though and that thing is AWESOME! I highly recommend for Soups or smoothies. Its also going to be great when I'm post op on soft foods and/or pureed. I'm looking very forward to it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
