Frustrated with weight loss

Recommended Posts

I was banded 12/14/12 and have only lost 22 lbs. including presurgery diet. Had my 3rd fill yesterday but feel like I'm just not losing like I should. Anyone else have these issues?

I know exactly how you feel. I was banded 12/12/12 and am only down 28 pounds. Monday (2/11/13) will be my third fill. Currently my 14 cc band has 6 cc's. I keep my portions to 1 cup which keeps me satisfied for a couple of hours. Also, I track my food/calorie intake. Hopefully we will both see results soon. :)

I think a loss is a loss as i see it.....if you are adhering to the band rules in regards to eating the proper portions, the better food choices and letting the band help you and also, realizing 3500 cals is a pound whether its ate or drank and to not take in more then you burn off, then you are doing great. if you are losing inches, clothes getting bigger, then its working. the scale goes up and down all day long. just because the scale is not moving quickly, I am sure its working. hang in there. I just know you will continue to lose.

i had the same issue when i first had the band put in as well... i also had a friend with one put in a month after mine... she reached the green zone before me but her band was also smaller... she has also reached her goal and im still 24 away from mine but she also had a lower bmi then i did... but ultimatly i follow the rules just like she does! everyone is different and you guys have lost more weight then i did in the first month in a half! Also this is just a ? but without the band have you ever lost that much weight in a month in a half??? the lap band is to help lose weight at a slow and steady pace it is not gastric bypass which will allow you to lose weight alot faster! you guys are doing great and like i said your doing alot better then i did in the begining! give it time! your already sticking to the rules you will surely see results!!!

22lbs in two months is a great loss. Its more then two pounds a week. People dont understand that the band is a slow weight loss and like CG a loss is a loss no matter whether it is an ounce or a pound. Slow and steady wins the race.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
