My surgeon requires a 4 day hospital stay. idk why, but they seem to do things differently here in Europe.

I know that my friend who also has her LB surgery here stayed 4 days. She was glad for the stay (she used it as a break from her 4 kids!) but I think I'm going to go crazy for 4 days (& they don't have WIFI in the hosptial...ugh!

When I was in the US, I stayed a week when I had my spleen removed 8 yrs ago, but gosh!

wow, that is a serious stay.... I arrived at the hospital at 6:30am had surgery at 8:30am, they put me in a room for observation until 2:30 and I was home by 4PM (or 16:00 to you :).

I am with you, I think I would go a little stir crazy :)

I have to stay overnight because i have a history of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolisms, but from what I am reading here on this site, most US patients seem to be going home the same day. Maybe it varies by each individual patient's needs and/or doctor preference.

4 days though, better take some good books to read or something. I would go stir crazy too. Please report and tell us what they have you doing during those 4 days.

I'll definitely keep everyone posted. Although I can't get to this forum from my iPhone--it asks for a password (idk why). So I'll have to use my hotspot and log on on my laptop.

And I'll have my trusty Kindle loaded with lots of new books!

4 days is a long time! I went into surgery just after 9am and was home about 1:30.

Make sure you take lots of stuff to do to keep yourself busy!

The group forums don't work on iPads or phones...this will be fixed in a few weeks I'm told, along with an overhaul of the Groups area so it's easier to navigate. Woo hoo!

Wish they'd have it fixed by next week...that would be awesome...but I know that probably won't be the case! lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
