Was stuck but still having trouble with liquids

Recommended Posts

I had a pill get stuck and now it's unstuck but I am still having a time getting fluids down. It seems like they are going down but then just sit there:( :(

Should I try warm Water or ice water?? I'm thinking maybe I'm just a lil irritated and is the reason why nothing is working. Please help!

Call your doctor, as you may need a slight unfill.

Just try to relax and take it easy (tension makes the band more aggravated)

Personally I would try warm Water before ice Water if you wanna try getting fluids down.

Feel better!

Thanks. Warm Water goes down and then sits there. I'm trying tiny sips of a Protein Shake now.

Usually some hot tea or coffee helps me. I also found that taking sips (like when I freshly had surgery) helped me rather than drinking as normal. If it continues and you cannot get sips down, then you may want to call your dr. for a slight unfill until this passes. Going forward, perhaps you could look into whether you can cut your pill to avoid this going forward.

Were you having a hard time before you got the pill stuck? Sometimes after a stuck episode things feel like they are getting stuck because of the irritation even though they are not. I would stick to warm liquids today and if you don't feel better by tomorrow call your doctor! If there is something truly stuck when you try to drink or eat it will come right back up! I had a pill stuck and as soon as I would drink Water it would fly right back up! The doctor had to retrieve it. Good luck and never feel hesitant to call your doctor when things don't feel right!

I would try tiny sips of cold Water then. Depending on what kind of pill was stuck, it may have irritated (swollen) the tissue at the stoma. Best of luck.

I've also found a heating pad placed on my stomach helps relax the whole area--I think I get tense from the pain of being stuck--and tensing up doesn't help anything.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
