March 2013 Surgery Dates?

Recommended Posts

I'm going in a few hours for surgery. Nervous, second guessing myself. Thinking about not eating with the family at gatherings. It just seems so final and my sister, God love her, said, "We will just have to find joy in new things and view food as fuel to live".

This pic is me 3 weeks ago. Looking forward to seeing much less of me!

Prayers for all of you for a quick recovery, transition to your new lifestyle and wonderful results to your body and health!

Your sister is absolutely correct, and you will be experiencing food in a completely different way.

You are lucky to have a wonderful person like her on your side!!

You will do great, the surgery will be over before you know it.

Hi March bandsters! I'm back from the hospital after my March 20th procedure. Everything went well; no complications. I was first on the roster so I was taken down to the block at 7am; they started at 8:30am and finished at 9:30 am. Couple of hours in recovery and then back to my room. My surgeon extracted most of the CO2 so I had minimal gas pains; mostly in my shoulders. I'd say my biggest complaint post surgery was feeling very tired and weak; I didn't get out of bed until the next day (everytime I tried to stand, the room would spin). But once I was up, things were fine and I was walking the hospital corridors as my energy permitted.

Wishing all the March people who are waiting their turn a good experience!

3 days post-op here too, went to Trader Joe's yesterday and couldn't turn down the free sample of Columbian... Lol

I'm supposed by my lack of bruises, my wife was banded a year ago and she had green /purple bruises all over her tummy area.

I have some bruises too. I'm going pretty well all things considered. I think I'm going to venture out of the house today.

I'm 13 days post op and my port area and belly button incision is very tender, a little red and swollen. I've also cheated the last day or so, 1 small cookie and some chocolate. I'm down 17lbs pre 2 week diet.

Stupid pain pill got stuck this morning and made it very uncomfortable to even down Water. Went to True Results and got 1cc taken out. So now I am at 3cc.

They told me that with the hernia repair it is normal for patients to come in for a slight unfill. I also had a mucus production going on which is a sign of an over full band because the esophagus is trying to protect itself from what it thinks might be stomach acid.

The unfill brought immediate relief!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
