Banded 1 week ago--questions, please help

Recommended Posts

I had a very easy time, went home the same day, really no pain

I've had no trouble eating mushy foods and even some "soft" solids. Nothing has been a problem. I even had a little salad. Is that normal?

However, I am not finding that I ever feel full! Is that also normal?

Honestly, I don't feel any different in terms of my band helping me yet. I am making much better food choices and not snacking but I don't feel like my band is helping at all to eat less or feel full.

What is everyone else's experiences?

Hi there. Your band is probably empty so soon after surgery. The docs want you to heal before adding restriction. An empty band is pretty much like not being banded ... It doesn't curb hunger or portions. Once you start getting fills you will feel a huge difference.

Every doc is different but I'm surprised salad was on your ok to eat list. To feel full longer try having more Protein rich foods.

While healing, it is normal to fill completely full. Be careful with salad, as most early banders are warned off it. Congratulations on your surgery and best wishes.

Do you know why that is?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
