Got my finalized 2 week pre op diet

Recommended Posts

I don't think it's going to be so bad at all. I have to have 3 shakes, and 2 Protein bars...plus I can have unlimited no carb veggies, 3oz of protein, and one small fruit each day. I start it on Friday. I can't believe in just a couple of weeks I'll officially be banded! I'm so excited, and beyond ready!

Woo hoo!!!! Congrats!!! My daughters birthday is February 10th, and we're having her party that day as well. It'll be tough to avoid all the yummy food, cake, and ice cream. Not to mention no one really knows I'm having the surgery, so I may have to walk around with a plate of food pretending to eat! haha I'll stay strong though, it'll be soo worth it :)

Congrats! We're getting sooo close! Do you have to do any kind of 2 week diet, or do you get to avoid it all together?

I'm on day two of my pre op diet. So far so good. I'm hungry at times, but it hasn't been too bad.

I'm a bit scared, but more afraid of the surgery itself than anything. I just want that part over with.

I don't officially start my pre-op diet until the 28th, but I've been slowly starting it. The Breakfast won't be hard at all for me. Right now I seldom eat Breakfast. With my diet, I get one Protein, one fruit, and one dairy for breakfast. Of course the dairy choices are low cal. For example, I can have a Protein shake, 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce, and 1 low fat string cheese stick. I tried that yesterday and it was difficult for me to eat that much. Like I said, I haven't been a breakfast person. My lunches and suppers will be difficult though. A Protein and 2 cups of veggies. I have never eaten 2 full cups of veggies ever at one sitting. The no Snacks in between will be difficult too. But all in all, I feel like it won't be too bad. Until the headaches set in. Yuck.

My surgery date is February 11th. Thought it was the 12th at first, but now it is the 11th. I'll be watching for posts from you ladies that are a little ahead of me. Good luck to all of you. And yeah, I'm scared too. Not for surgical pain, but for the huge lifestyle changes we are all about to make.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
