Any February 2013 Bandsters?

Recommended Posts

Well a little update! I had surgery Friday of last week and I feel pretty good still a little sore but pretty much back to normal! Finding it hard not to lift things over a gallon on milk( I hate to ask for help)! I am a little sore but I can finnally sleep on my side and this morning I woke up on my stomach! I found out that the shakes that I was drinking pre op I think are way to sweet now! So I am looking for a good one again! My first post appt is tomorrow! I hope that all that went before me are doing good!

2 more days..... And I'm getting really nervous. Very happy that I've lost 20 lbs on my pre op liquids. Surgery Thursday at 9. I can handle pain but am so afraid of being nauseas all day.

I had to stop reading all of this the week before my surgery b/c it made me more nervous. :). Everything went well! Good luck!

I had surgery a week ago today. Still a bit of pain in my shoulder but I feel good. A bit dizzy at times but I've got major headaches as well (another health issue not related to this). I haven't been hungry at all. I'm getting 50-70g of Protein, have yet to get the 100g of protein they are wanting me to get each day. I'm working on it. Drinking about 64 oz of Fluid. With the headaches it's been hard to start much exercise. My first appt is Fri. One problem I have had is I haven't had a bowel movement yet. And I haven't had any pain meds since Saturday. Hoping something moves soon. I'm on magnesium for headaches so I should have something because on full liquids I've been eating puréed eggs, yogurt, and cottage cheese.< /p>

The Greek yogurt got me going :).

I have my surgery tomorrow morning. I have not cheated at all for 2 weeks on the liquid diet until just now. I had 4 Ritz crackers.... Not sure why but I was so hungry and the nerves are kicking in. I'm really excited and ready for this journey but am mad at myself that I folded the night before..

I was done feb 8th barely able to swallow. The doctor decided to unfill my band. I guess I was swollen too much from surgery. Now I'm starving!

My surgery is scheduled for 2/19. My doctor told me today that he will have to cancel it if the insurance company doesn't approve by Friday. :(

Today is the day. 9 a.m. surgery time. Yesterday I was an anxiety ridden mess, this morning I am calm as a cucumber. Ready to get banded. Good luck to everyone else being banded today as well.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
