You have gotten a lot of good advice. The 2 things I would emphasize is to continue with the Protein Shakes, maybe even 2 a day. I do think you need to up your calories a bit, I understand it's hard for you, but I think shakes will help. Another idea I liked is adding some fat- olive oil would be a better choice than butter- since it doesn't contain near as much saturated fat. I have come to love roasted veggies. Asperagus, broccoli brussel sprouts, squash ( zuchinni and yellow) are delicious. Just cut, add olive oil and salt and pepper. Bake in the oven at 400. They take different times, You'll know they are done when they shrink and turn a little brown. Full fat cheese is also a great idea. You want to get in at least 2 servings of Calcium per day. That is what my nut says anyway. I stick to that carefully since there is ostioperosis in my family. Hope this helps.

even though the scale may not be showing a loss as fast your wanting it, just by you doing what you are suppose to, I am sure the inches are just falling off and not to mention your body loving you for it. keep your eye on the prize. better health.

Because of the band, I am very seldom hungry and many times I don't feel like eating because the band is telling my brain I don't need to...and if I am busy / occupied that day, I may forget to eat.....

Speaking for myself, I don't get hung up about it it....If I don't eat, I don't eat...makes up for those other days....

I do however, make sure I ALWAYS get my Protein in...do not want to mess with the basic building blocks....and I can get my Protein in without eating a lot of food....

As far as metabolism and energy...never had a problem...

Thank you all so much! You have been so helpful. I did call my nutritionist last week to discuss my concerns with her. She wants me tracking everything I eat this week, so she can look it over and guide me in the right direction. She said she was concerned my body was going into starvation mode, and my body would retain the weight! But how come some people can have such low calories and lose, while others retain the weight?! It's just hard because people in the beginning would shower me compliments everyday, now that the loss has slowed, it's really bothering me. But you're right, I have to shift my focus and make healthy eating, Water intake and exercise a priority!

Peaceful - just goes to show how different we all are. Starvation doesn't work for me which I think is a good thing! I started eating and the weight is coming off. Again, I Protein load and add some full fat. That's what works for me and was ok'd by my doc. Keep track and see what the nutritionist has to say. But don't give up! You will get there before you know it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
