hardest bandster rule to follow for me..

Recommended Posts

The hardest thing for me to follow is taking 30 minutes to eat my meals. I seem to be unable to do this, especially at work. Sometimes I don't even get a ten minute break, let alone 30!

It helps the foods to pass threw you band faster. When you're dry you get full faster and stay fuller longer. But my problem is, I'm always thirsty. If I think about Water, I'm ready to drink. I had to stop to drink while responding to these threads. I know this is a big problem for me. I wake up in the middle of the night thirsty. My body craves water. I made it a point to drink more water, but know its my down fall :-(

Missy.. I hear ya on that.. I think that is a harder problem for me then the drinking! I have always been a snack all night , eat all night gal.. and not during the day.

My Dr says can drink all the way till you eat your meal, once you eat, stop. Says some dr's still have that old mind set of the drinking rule.. but it shows that food itself passes through relatively quickly and only need to wait about 30mins afterwards to have a drink. He said it could be 15mins but they are still stuck in their ways. lol

I will consider 15 minutes. I will have to really look at the clock and all :-) I know that I have never been on to follow rules. That's the problem. I have to do better. I prayed for this band. I wanted help. I didn't want to have anything cut off or rerouted. So this has to work for me. I lost 50, gained back 20ish. Something's got to give. So I'm reducing the carbs. I got this Water app that reminds me to drink. I need water, because I have digestive issues. But I want success. So I will follow the rules. Well try to :-/

I have a question ladies, after reading the topic i see i still have alot to learn. ok with the question why cant you drink before or after your meal.

my dr told me it was because it pushes the food through the band and leaves your pouch empty. My in my experience if I drink right after eating it pushes the food up and out...either way it's not a good thing.

I can drink up until I take my first bite.... Then forgettaboutit!!!

eating with my hub, and seeing him drink so much....i am like, no wonder you eat so much the sh** just slides on through...i use to do that also

now, i drink right up to eating and wait 30 min after..

When I eat out I Definately do not get Water with my meal or have it taken away once I get my food.then I must admit I am usually a big gum chewer for the next hour!

I have to agree with the no drinking rule. I haven't been sticking to that one like I should and just now had an Aha! Moment that this could be the reason I'm not loosing like I should.

I thought the same thing. It could also be the reason I don't feel so tight, or able to eat so much more.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
