This is my first post, but here goes. My first meeting with my Dr was in November 2011, I did everything they wanted..all the testing, scopes, mental evals etc. I went to my last Dr visit before surgery in early April, I was sooo excited!! I would be setting my surgery date on my next visit for pre op!! Then on April 29 my family & I were t-boned coming home from a birthday party. Thankfully my daughter & husband walked away with minor injuries, my son was hurt horribly..air lifted away from us all, but is doing super now!! Myself, well I broke all my ribs on my left side & a few other breaks, cuts etc. when I came to in the hospital a day or two later all I could do was think about "what about my surgery!".. & of couse my son!! I cried a lot!! I called my Drs office & let them know that it would be on hold for a bit, my nurse actually cried with me on the phone that day. Fast forward 8 months...we are all healed up & I got my surgery date!!! January 29th!!!! I can't wait, I'm so ready for this! This site was a real help to me while healing from our accident it kept me hopeful & I can't wait to see what the future holds!! Oh..& go NOTRE DAME!!!!

Welcome and very glad you are here with us. Jan.10,2012 I t-bone a old guy that pulled out in front of me. My car was totalled, but I was not hurt like you and son. No broken bones, just a lot of tears, but that is what led me to LBS. I had to try something to relieve the pain that physical therapy was not helping. Believe it or not ,during surgery they did something with my neck that took away the pain I had been having for 8mths, so I got a two for, LBS and neck repair, lol.

I'm so glad you're joining our LB family. There is so much support and inspiration. Please post often so we get to know you and can cheer you on.

Best wishes on your journey to a healthier you!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
