Some ppl do take numerous fills before hitting the green zone, once a month for maybe 6 mths, but after you hit that zone you could be good for years. Don't give up yet!

Maybe you couldn't handle that .5cc b/c you had too much swelling or not taking small enough bites or eating to fast.

There's definitely a learning curve. Yes, I would try a small fill. Slow and sure wins the race!

Good luck to you!

I just had my port flip before my second fill, so looking at a small surgery for correction before getting another fill, but to me it's all worth it. I've always been able to lose weight, just not keep it off. The band is my insurance this time.

Sorry you are feeling so frustrated but it does take time to reach your green zone with the band and even when you get there, as your body changes, you will need further adjustment of your band. Remember that as you lose weight, the pad of fat around your stomach shrinks and your band can get loser, so that 0.5ml that you had taken out could be perfectly fine on your next fill.

Hopefully your surgeon explained that the band is not a set and forget measure and that it needs to be managed for the rest of your life.

Good luck.

I didn't even know it. I went for 2nd fill and after 10 attempts I had to go have x-ray and it was flipped completely over. Dr tried to manually turn it but a no go, so having revision surgery soon.

Thanks, Sage, i've never been this frustrated with the band,i love it, but being hungry every two hrs is just plain ridiculous. I'm not at all an emotional eater and eat plenty of Protein etc, i just think less than half a cc is like pointless, i got the 1cc right after thanksgiving or around there ( my mind is retarded tonight) then that was wayy too tight so got 1/2cc taken out

This may sound weird, but maybe instead of 3 big meals throughout the day, have 5 small meals. This works for me. I eat every three hours, but not big meals and I always eat between 1000-1200 calories per day, so I'm feeling satisfied without eating a whole lot.

Don't give up on your band!!

It does takes some time!

Being hungry every 2 hours is quite common though. Many of us don't find the green zone for many months or even a year. In the meantime we struggle with the hunger but try to eat healthy. You may need to lower your expectations?

How many cc does you're band hold?

I have been banded for almost two year s. I have had UPS and downs. Please hang in. My band holds 14cc. I have 9.5cc.

Question? Are you staying away from food s that start with a letter C?

Remember take a bite and wait one minute in between meals.

I have 5cc in 10cc band the (new) dr said he has plenty of room for more cause he didnt get any back pressure when he filled the port (before the unfill). I thought .5cc was the smallest fill possible, now im reading that's not true-which is great! Maybe i can just get 1/4???

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
