I got my first fill 2 weeks ago. I have PB'ed every day since. I don't think that I need an unfill. I just think that I need to slow down, chew, etc. It has been 2 of the most stressful work weeks of my life. I think that is playing a huge part. I had one stress-free day and that day I had very light restriction. I'm having a hard time slowing down my lifestyle in order to accommodate my new eating needs. I'm used to eating on the run and mindlessly. I hope I can get a handle on this before it causes problems.

BandaCat, you may have to start paying closer attention to what you eating as well as chewing more. I've found numerous things my band will not tolerate, no matter how well it's chewed.

If you continue to pb, you definitely need to get a slight unfill, I've had to return for unfills a couple of times. Once I hung in there for a month, thinking it would be better, only to still have a little taken out.

I have never PB'd in the 6 months that I have had my band. I have great restriction now and I get "first bite syndrome" and have felt a little stuck if I eat too fast but I have learned to listen to those signs and SLOW DOWN.

Is it still considered PBing when you just slime, and no throw up? I have slimed and had the golf ball about 4 times in 2 months since my first fill, but it eventually went down every time so far. I was close once on a piece of steak and almost gave in to tossing it up. I have been afraid of steak since.

I've PB'd 3 times. It has been 6-10 days after a fill. Twice I couldn't recover and had to go in for unfills. By recover I mean move from a few sips of liquids to anything else. The third time I was able to recover from it after several hours and the fill was OK.

One time - in almost 10 mos. And it was totally due to my not paying attention.

Walking, talking and eating a sandwich on chiabatta bread - dense, thick, dry bread - FIRST thing in the morning. Not such a good idea.

So long as I sit down and chew - I can eat the Chiabatta bread - but not first thing in the morning while I am chattering away, traipsing around the house.

I didn't even get decent restriction until two weeks ago - and no PB's since the fill.

PB's are not supposed to be the norm.

I was told if you PB very much, you could cause your band to slip. I believe she said more than once a month. I would be really concerned if I was PBing everyday.

This was ages ago that I voted but a year down the track now and I've still not PB'd. Like Drewslou I can get stuck if I eat too fast but I've learned to slow down and stop when I've had enough and so far its served me well.

I think a good way of remembering PB is "PAYBACK" as a newly banded member I haven't yet experienced but i think i came close today by eating too fast ....Old habits hard to break That golfball sounds familiar although nothing came back but believe me that was close enough to not wanting to have my band Payback in future....

That describes me too, when will I ever learn!

I think what saves me from PB's (so far) is that I have forever had a slight case of emetophobia. It's not serious enough to warrent concern but it does make me fear PB's enough to where I go out of my way to avoid it. It's probably why I'm still losing weight. (although I haven't figured out how to move my ticker thingy, lol)

BTW..Anyone else out there who was banded by Dr Rodriguez in Acuna? I'd love to here from ya

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
