I am sure I want this lap band but by surprise I am only concerned about the port scar. How do you guys really feel about the scar? Is it worth the weight loss?

I'm six months banded the only visible scar I have now is the larger port one but that's just a faint line now and seems to be fading more and more. I'd rather a scar than the size I was.

Very good point! Ladies!!!! I wouldn't mind a battle scar. Besides I just want to feel good for myself. I don't plan on modeling or showing my stomach at all anyways

Honestly who cares about a scar? No one sees your belly unless you show them, but your fat is visible to all. The scar was the least of my concerns.

My scar is only about 2 inches but I would have been fine with a foot long scar. Anything is better than looking at all of my extra rolls and back fat. I had 2 c sections and that "port" scar doesn't even faze me. And don't worry, it will fade over time. :-)

That's very true. I don't plan on revealing the scar to the world anyways but yes everyone does see the fat girl in the pics and walking down the hall. I guess unless they have x-ray vision who cares. Screw the scar I'm doing it.

My tiny scar is a constant reminder that I'm never going back to being 248 lbs. I will take the battle scar any day!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
