Well waiting for date to remove and revise to bypass

Recommended Posts

Since my body doesn't like the band I will be having it out then converting to bypass

But I had to take the psych test again and meet with the psych Did that and the psych wants to meet a few more times as I apparently have a high self esteem. I think his is a waste of time. But will play the game

I also have to meet with the dietician which is understandable.

But there is nothing wrong mentally with me as it is the band just does not work with my body

I know it must be extremely frustrating to have to feel like we gotta jump thru hoops to get things approved. I'm fixing to have to start doing that as I see my surgeon for the first time next week. Good luck to you!

I also have to keep a food journal again. I am not a very good book keeper

Rocky:

Have you tried one of the food counting apps? I use sparkpeople. It's easy to set up, I can access from my iPad, iPhone or Mac and you can save a food to your favorites if you eat it regularly. It provides calories and all of the nutrition information. I know there are many others but that might make it easier. I know they have android versions too. Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
