70 pounds in 8 months

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if this is an average weight loss....my goal is 100 in a year so I have 30 to go in 4 months! I know I can do it I just need to start exercising haha I have not exercised AT ALL.....I really want to lose 150 total (not in a year) just wondering if people still lose weight after a years period? I have felt so amazing since my weight loss I've gained so much more confidence in myself I can walk without getting tired I LOVE IT! My surgery was may 1 I weighed 310 now I'm at 240 and I'm only 5'1 so I have lots to go still but very excited so far :) and was like I said just curious if people still kept losing after a year

Its probably above avg! U can expect weight loss to slow down after the first 6 months but don't give up on your goals? You're doing so well!

I averaged 10 lbs per month for 22 months for a total loss of 220 lbs. the last 45 lbs took 7 months as it slows way down at the end. It did for me anyway

I was banded on August 8, 2012 and I have lost 68.1 pounds including pre-op and my goal is to lose a 100 pounds by August 8, 2013 or more. I am sticking to a very low carb type diet and I meet with my surgeon every month to adjust my band so I can meet my weight loss goal.

Weight loss will slow down considerably! I am 15 months post op. I lost 1-2 lbs per week for the first 6 months after that it was like 1-2 a MONTH. I am down 90 lbs so far, and still slowly slowly losing. I walk 40 mins a day, which helps. It is a little dis heartening because you get used to the fast weight loss at the start, then struggle. But if u stay smart and keep fighting, the scale will still go in the right direction.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
