Thanks everyone. That is exactly what I needed to hear. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea to increase my meds while I go through the beginning of this stage. I seem to be having minor freak outs and panic attacks every time something doesn't seem right.

That may be a valid option but you should discuss that with your doctor. Hang in there. It really does get better. I am almost 6 mos. out and 65 lbs down and loving it!!!

If you feel like crying, cry! Get it out and move on. By now I hope you felling better. The band gets easier with time. Happy New Year!

I am 5 weeks out and after my 1st fill I had these regret decisions again. Just calm down it will pass. Everything will be okay. Give yourself some time and realize you have just made a life changing decision. It takes time to get used to it. But you will and you will be glad you did it.

I was banded on the 19th and I know what you are going through. Remember, you read about the journey of other people on here but everyBODY is different. There was a reason you chose this path. Maybe jotting it down, along with a couple of goals and placing it somewhere you can see it will help you stay positive. I know it's difficult. I am there now. I have highs and lows but I try to focus on why I did this. If you need to chat, let's chat. You are surrounded by friends here who know what you are going through. Keep that in mind.

I feel your pain. Its taking me some adjusting and alot of mental change/coaching. BUT what i did realize is that i would have never made these changes had i not been banded. Im doing a little better every day...

I remember crying about foods I would miss a few days after I had my band in, and wondering what I had done to myself. That was 60 pounds and 7 months ago.:) You're going to be great!

oh my. we both have something in common. i had my surgery the day after christmas and i asked myself "what have i done to myself". still wonder and i think i'm ok. i was afraid because i had- had a heart attack last year and have other health issues. so i can relate and this is why i am glad i found this page :) we will get through this and look we don't have to try to start on jan 1st like -i'd always try to go healthy. because we have started now :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
