To Band or to RNY: That is the question?

:help: :help: :help: I have definitely decided that I want weight loss surgery, but I live in a very small town in the midwest and the only surgery anyone around here has had done or has heard about is the actual Gastric Bypass. So I am trying to gather any and all info about the procedure from the internet-honesty is greatly appreciated!

#1 Why did most of you decide on the band rather than bypass?

#2 Everyone that I have ever heard of that had the bypass says they are always very full when they eat, but I don't seem to read that about band patients. I am looking forward to eating a small amount and actually being "full"-will I feel full?

#3 What are the dietary restrictions that immediately follow the lap-band procedure? When are you able to eat "normal" food, just in smaller amounts?

#4 Why do they wait to "fill" your band and not fill it during your initial surgery?

#5 If any of you have anything whatsoever that you think will help me choose which procedure I am going to have, please tell me anything and everything! I am here for help!

This site looks awesome and I am really looking foward to hearing your candid replies! Thanks!
