DID ANY OF YOU BANDSTERS FEEL DIZZY OR WANTED TO PASS OUT DURING PRE OP DIET ON LIQUIDS?

Recommended Posts

Not until I lost weight, then blood pressure was low and I got dizzy some. Are you on pain meds?

I had dips of low blood sugar when I first started so I would get dizzy or start shaking so I had to get just a couple pieces of fruit or one of my luna Protein Bars I found in the super market & that seemed to help me but fainting no I just felt real week , even before surery and after so I hope this helped.

OMG yes I did. I called my surgeon and he instructed me to eat a Protein Bar or a hard boiled egg so I did. It passed. This was in the first few days, guess when your body is going thru withdrawals of sugar and carbs, it was awful. I felt horrible but after about day 3 or 4 it passed and I was okay. Hope you feel better.

Not sure why you are on pain meds before surgery but I am sure you have told your band dr why... And I would bet that be the reason you are dizzy...of course it could be the lack of calories, protien, caffeine or even sugar. I had a headache and was light headed for the first 4 days then by day 5 I was ok.

Good luck!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
