Newbie and not sure where to post

I'm post op 4 days. Just started drinking the protein shakes which I'm able to drink a little and a little bit of pudding but I'm having to break it up in more than just the 3 meals. Anyway my question is am I supposed to be on a protein shake diet the first week or is it just liquids in general? I wanted to try some pure liquid soups like tomato with unflavored protein powder to give me a variety is that okay? I didn't really get a self diet plan just whatever was in the book I was given. The protein shake isn't my fav thing and I was hoping to so something more flavorful and maybe that would help with my calorie intake.

Every doctor is different so you should speak to his/her office? Did you get a pamphlet or instruction book before surgery?

I was on liquids including shakes the first 4 days and then mushies for another 4 days.

Yes I got a booklet. Days 3-7 it says to have 3 protein shakes a day along with 2 other items which there was a list for like sf pudding and jello applesauce and yogurt smoothies. I figured liquid was liquid. Just didn't want to screw anything up! I can start creamy soups with no chunks on day 8. Just wasn't sure what exactly was meant. Maybe I will call to clarify. Thanks!!!
