United Healthcare provided by Target

Has anyone had the opportunity to get an approval by united healthcare with Target? I just enrolled and I'm in the 6 month waiting process for surgery. But I am debating weather I should pay out of pocket. Can someone help?!

Have you called UH to consult with a Care Coordinator? I was on my 5th month waiting process and just found out that I should have called UH before I started. When I called UH they told me that I didn't qualify for coverage because I didn't have diabeties, high blood pressure, etc. Now I am doing self pay. Friday is my EGD and next Wednesday is my consultation at True Results.

If I were you I would call UH just to make sure you're covered or talk to your doctor and make sure they have everything they need. Good Luck!

Thanks for your reply! I did contact united and I was told they do cover the bariatric surgery but starting in January target will no longer offer the PPO plan that I have now. Which means they will not be covering my surgery then. I have decided to do self pay. What financing company did you use for the self pay option? I have been researching a couple.

I'm using care credit. I've been told that even if they approve you for an amount that's less than what the surgery is, your doctor can submit a request for additional credit to cover the surgery.

Thanks for your reply! I contacted my doctors office and the secretary informed me that they do not take care credit. Ugh. So I will search for my financing options.
