First, I gotta say, I LOVE the taste of the powders? utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury products...

However, I notice that I'm having "lactose intolerance symptoms" (won't be more specific than that) about 15 minutes after drinking them... I never have an issue with eating any dairy product, this seems to be the only lactose product causing symptoms...

Anyone else have a similar experience? Are they temporary that go away after your body gets used to it???

Please don't take this as a dig to Unjury, I love them and will continue to use them even though I have the symptoms... Just looking to see if anyone else had a similar issue...

It might be something else bothering you . It is kind of strange you have never had issues with dairy before now and then all the sudden with Unjury. Have you tried any other products? There are so many options and lots of dairy free as well. Best of Luck!

Try mixing the Unjury with Almond milk and see if that makes a difference.

You could also try doing a half dose, like half of a shake in the morning, and the other half mid-afternoon or so. I have the digestive problems you mention with most whey Protein isolate drinks (except Isopure) no matter what I mix it in, but in the past, a suggestion to me was to half my intake, did not work for me, but it may for you.

I am known to be lactose intolerant and I can use Unjury with no symptoms in Almond Milk. Higher in Calcium, low in calories and carbs. Tastes great!

I've fallen in love w/ Unjury but I use lactose free milk. No problems and yes I'm lactose intolerant!

I love Unjury. I notice that I have a little bit of an "issue" when I drink them. I have the opposite effect when I drink eas advantage.

Good luck with the problem.

I'm not lactose intolerant but I had an issue with the eas advantEDGE carb control drinks last week. I slowed down in drinking them and I'm okay now. I think it's just your body adjusting to such a high concentrated amount of protein... At least that's what I read online. Try the other suggestions, hopefully something works!!

My inside come to screaching halt on all Protein Shakes. I wasn't told I could eat oranges on my pre-op, but when I got sick right after Christmas I started eating 2 cuties a day and that helped A LOT. Things started moving so to speak. :P

If I can keep eating fruit I will be ok. If not I will have to take something to make things "run" smooth. I am going to ask them tomorrow before I leave the hospital to see what they suggest. I know the pain meds will slow things down alot too. I had the same problem a couple weeks after my gall bladder surgery.

I think it may just be the body getting used to that much Protein after not having it for so long. Not sure

Thanks too BTW. I am very excited and nervous about tomorrow :D:o:blink:

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
