November 30, 201213 yr I get so hungry I need a fill ASAP I still got two weeks till I go but still doing great does any one know what's the biggesfill I can gett
November 30, 201213 yr A big fill isn't necessarily a good thing. Trust your surgeon's judgement and what size fill he thinks is best. In the meantime, try to eat more Protein because it will help satisfy your hunger longer.
November 30, 201213 yr My first fill was 3cc. Yet again all Drs are different. You really don't want to get a huge fill b/c you could blow right past your green zone. My Dr said the average fill to green zone is usually between 4 cc-7.5cc
November 30, 201213 yr When was your surgery? You should fill out your profile so we can better answer your questions.
November 30, 201213 yr All doctors are different so it really depends on your doctor. Some do up to 5, some 1 or 2 cc.
November 30, 201213 yr I had 4 cc in a 10cc band the day of surgery and one cc the 2 times it wasn't until the last .5 that did the trick so its a total of 6.5 cc and so far great.
November 30, 201213 yr Author I just think I shouldn't feel this hungry I eat twice a day saled and a shake in the morning 1/2 cup of chicken or beef and romain or spinich tomatoe and cottage cheese or Italian dressing
November 30, 201213 yr A lot of people seem to think they need to decide how much of a fill to get before they go to the doctor. I would not even worry about that, just go in and tell your surgeon exactly what's been going on. That is, what your eating when and what the hunger situation is. Then let him use his expertise to decide how much a fill to give you. The first fill several people mentioned is going to be the biggest- the tubing that leads from the port to the band needs to be filled. Good luck and keep on track until you get that fill- you seem like you are doing great.
November 30, 201213 yr Why aren't you eating solid foods for breakfast? Or at least mushies like Greek yogurt or oatmeal. Protein shakes are a slider, I would be hungry 5 min. Later and I'm at restriction. Also for me salad is a slider food. Are you eating 3 oz. Solid protein Lunch and dinner?
November 30, 201213 yr My Dr. put in 3.6 cc's at the time of surgery. So far, I've had 2 fills. The first one was only 2 weeks ago (3 1/2 months after surgery) and he only put in 1 cc. I had my second fill of 1.6 cc today for a total of 6.2 in my 10cc band. Hopefully, I'm on my way to the green zone Reading everyone's posts here though, it looks like everyone is different and what works for one might not work for another. I log my food and even though I may be hungry, I don't over and I measure everything.
November 30, 201213 yr I just think I shouldn't feel this hungry I eat twice a day saled and a shake in the morning 1/2 cup of chicken or beef and romain or spinich tomatoe and cottage cheese or Italian dressing You should be eating 3 meals a day. 3oz of solid Protein 1/4 veggies1/4 good carbs. Previous poster is right, everything you're eating besides chicken & beef is slider food. Dr & Nut said salad is a slider and not to eat it until you are in the green zone. I would be starving too if I ate your menu! If I get hungry between meals I'll have a cup of herbal tea or SF hot chocolate. Takes the edge off.
November 30, 201213 yr I just think I shouldn't feel this hungry I eat twice a day saled and a shake in the morning 1/2 cup of chicken or beef and romain or spinich tomatoe and cottage cheese or Italian dressing the band wont stop you from filling hungry (nor will a fill) it will help you eat less if you are hungry, eat a Protein filled food. Proteins will help you stay full longer (it does for me and i have no fills yet) also, drink alot. it could be head hunger but if you are hungry eat. just eat smart. just my thoughts/opinions.
